OKE South Africa was founded as a subsidiary of the OKE Group in 1996. Since then much has changed with us. We started exclusively with extrusion for the automotive and furniture technology sectors. Since 2011 we have expanded our product range to include injection molded articles. Today, we also manufacture technical plastic components for agriculture, healthcare and industry.
Our philosophy is to efficiently meet expectations, provide professional functional service structures, develop human capital and provide solutions to challenges. OKE believes that business should be about more than profits - it should also be about the difference that business can make in society and about the positive contributions it can make to community upliftment. OKE Plus is the vehicle which allows OKE Plastic SA to turn this belief into reality.
The first production facility was opened in the West Coast town of Atlantis, and operated under the name Extrusa. The facility focused on plastic extrusion and punching technology.
In 2001 the company opened another branch, called Laser Trimming Technology in Atlantis which embraced the latest laser technology, which allowed the company to produce more complicated parts more efficiently than previously.
This provided added value to our customers as ease of use and assembly times was improved.
Start of the OKE Kinderhilfe and the renovation of the Inkwenkwezi Secondary School in South Africa.
As the orders continued to pour in, the decision was made to move the facility to Montague Gardens in Cape Town, where Extrusa and Laser Trimming Technology were assimilated under OKE Plastic SA.
We are entering the market with our new developed Water Solutions product program. Especially for the first time we cultivate the vineyards in South Africa with our irrigation hoses.
We welcome our new colleagues of Viking Plastics in the OKE Group. Viking produces high-quality plastic components in injection molding and in extrusion. Silicone extrusion is particularly important.
We also welcome Boland Plastic in South Africa. Boland extrudes high-quality irrigation hoses for agriculture and ideally complements our product portfolio.
